video

Here are a few pointers for using the 360video viewer:

1) The video needs to be encoded in a format Flash can read, with h.264 encoding.   We recommend .m4v, .mp4, or .mov containers.

2) The latest versions of Flash require a "crossdomain.xml" file to be at the root level of your site (i.e. www.YourSite.com/crossdomain.xml).   Here is a zip file containing the crossdomain.xml.   Download this file, unzip it, and upload the "crossdomain.xml" file to the root level of your site:

crossdomain.xml.zip

3) Make sure you set up your hosting settings to serve up the proper MIME types.   In addition to the MIME types of the videos you wish to serve, you should also allow the .360index MIME type.   Here is an example of proper MIME settings:

MIME Types
File Extension MIME Type
.360index text/xml
.mp4 video/mp4
.m4v video/mp4

4) Copy & Paste the <EMBED> code created by the 360video Unwrapper Studio to the web page where you want the tour to appear.   HINT: Click the < /> icon to copy the EMBED code to your clipboard.

5) Upload the "somename.360scene" file created by the 360video Unwrapper Studio to your server.

6) For large video files, you may wish to consider hosting them on a Flash Media Server CDN, so they load quickly, in fast-start mode.   Otherwise, your visitors may have to wait a very long time, waiting for the video to download to their browser before they can view the video.   We recommend VirtuPoint:
